The European Commission is a politically independent institution of the European Union (EU), whose mission is to promote the observation of general interests of the EU, as well as to propose and apply legal acts, to implement policies and to use the EU’s budget. The Commission implements the decisions of the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union.
