On Monday, 14 March 2022, the Minister of Transport Tālis Linkaits discussed the war in Ukraine and the future actions of the EU Member States against Russia and Belarus in a telephone conversation with the Polish Minister of Infrastructure Andrzej Adamczyk.
The ministers discussed the impact of the already imposed EU sanctions on Russia and Belarus on the national transport sector, as well as possible further restrictions.
Mr Linkaits emphasised that when deciding on sanctions and restrictions, it was important that the Member States of the European Union took the decisions jointly.
